365 Days of Macy

welcome

A photo for each day of Macy's first year of life...

Day 292 - Field Day 2010

Macy & I spent the entire day with Andrew at his school, where they had their annual Field Day. It was 95+ outside, but we survived, and Macy bug was SUCH a good sport through it all! She had fans and cold wash cloths, water, fruit, snacks, bottles, etc... and even though she just barely got a 10-15 minute nap in her stroller, the rest of the time she did pretty good. Even spent an hour or two in the pool afterwards, then crashed hard while there, and then for the night once we got home. It was a fun fun day and I'm so glad I'm able to be there for Andrew in times like these. Even Miguel was able to come for 1/2 of the event and get dunked a few times in the dunking tank :)

Day 291 - Money Hungry

Today we went to the pool after Andrew came home from school, and then to Walmart to get stuff for dinner. While out, I needed to run to the bank to deposit my babysitting money for the week, but the ATM line was too long, so we just went home. Well, apparently, Macy wanted a little spending money and decided she'd just help herself to my hard-earned cash! I guess she thinks because she plays with Mia during the week, that she deserves to be paid too! HA, think again, sister. That's my money and it's already been accounted for! :) But it was cute, because I came in from a phone call I took outside, to Miguel showing me what she'd gotten into - she opened my wallet and dug out the check, the cash, and was having the best time trying to stuff it all in her mouth (what, so I wouldn't see?!).... haha!! And I'll add a video of our girl standing for a few seconds... sometimes it's much longer, sometimes it's just a second or two, but we did manage to catch it on video...

Day 290 - She Runs Me Ragged

This girl is too much! Now, when you put her down on the floor, she stiffens her legs out so that she's standing instead of sitting.... which was kind of a pain, but now I just make sure she's steady, and I let her go... and she's now STANDING ALONE for several seconds at a time!! The girl will be walking before a year, most definitely. Heck, she's not even 10 months old yet, so it will probably be well before the one year mark. OH NO. hahaha And tonight, we heard that she has a family trait - she snorted when she was laughing!! It was too funny :)

And because our day was so off (she's been sleeping at odd times now), and we had church until late, she went to bed before I could get a pic of her. So I snuck in with my handy dandy flash and grabbed a quick sleeping pic of her. Love that girl!!

Day 289 - Mommy's Getting Older!

Today is my 32nd birthday. Believe that or not! It's crazy!! This morning, Andrew asked me to get him a glass of milk, and when I opened the fridge, there sat a gift bag with "MOM" written on the card, stuffed in the top shelf of the fridge. They had all signed cards (with Macy's hand traced inside as well as Andrew's) and gave me 3 of the GIANT chocolate bars, 3 magazines (because I never buy them anymore), and some perfume. VERY sweet!! Unfortunately, we had a death in the family on Friday, and the funeral was this afternoon, so we took Macy with us to that. It was nice seeing family, even though it was for a sad event. Macy looked cute as ever and enjoyed chewing on my bracelets of course!! She got fed well after the service, by her/our cousins, so she was a happy girl! All pics taken from my phone, as I left the good camera in the car, darn it!

That is all for today!

Day 288 - Baby is Coming Soon!

This afternoon, I took the kids with me to a photo session... a maternity session (my first!). The baby on the way is Charlee Hope, baby girl to our friends Brooks & Sadie, who I have photographed since the proposal... so that makes for fun sessions - I know them, they know me, we have a good time during the session. And now we get to look forward to doing newborn pictures when she arrives! :) So anyway, we had been in the pool, so Macy had sunscreen in her hair and was just a mess! But she's a trooper and acted fine for me as I strolled her around the session location :) As for Andrew and myself, we ended up getting eaten by fire ants! Not a good way to end a session!!

Day 287 - Lazy day

Macy had another marathon nap this afternoon, so I was able to run some errands after lunch, but then after she went back down for the night, I realized I hadn't taken a picture of her yet! And my batteries weren't charged for my flash, so I had to use a dark room, and not much light, to get this pic :) But it counts and will work for today!

Day 286 - More bball, swimming, dinner, & playing

This morning, Marcie took me for my first ever manicure & pedicure! It was wonderful!!! The guys stayed home with the kids, and then we all went to Andrew's last bball game of the season. After the game, we had a quick McD's lunch and then went down to the pool so the kids could play. After that, we got dressed and ready and went out to dinner for my bday :) Food and company were wonderful and then after my sis & her family left for home, we stayed around the area of the restaurant and let the kiddos explore while Miguel, Riley & myself just sat around and enjoyed some gelato (italian ice cream) and people-watching. It was a very fun day and we enjoyed having my sis & everyone up for the night/day. :)

Day 285 - Baseball & Waiting

Tonight Andrew had his second to last baseball game of the season... and the boy played probably the best game he's ever played. He hit all balls on the first pitch, and he even caught a ball (not a ground ball, either!!)! He played 1st base and was very "vocal" during the game - cheering his teammates on, yelling for people to throw it to him, where to throw it, etc. It was pretty cute...not sure what got into him, but it only took the entire season for it to get going :)

After baseball, we spent the evening waiting for Marcie, Justin, Abigail & Jake to get to our house, as they were coming up to hang out with me/us for my birthday (that's on Tuesday). We tried to keep Macy bug awake, but she just couldn't make it, so I put her down but then woke her up when they finally got here. :) She was kinda quiet at first, not sure what to think of everyone trying to play with her in the middle of the night, but then she was fine and had a good time with everyone.

If you will notice, she has not stopped climbing things....the girl is too much!! :)

Day 284 - Pool Days Are The Best Days

As we've been trying to do lately, me and the kids went down to the pool after Andrew came home from school. Macy loves the water, as does Andrew, and I just like hanging out with my friends or just enjoying my time in the sun and outdoors. It's so nice being there after Andrew gets home from school, and being home with Macy all day. I wouldn't trade it for anything. :)

Day 283 - Girl's Gotta Have Shoes!

Check out the new shoes my girl has :) She loves her shoes - she'd rather them be off her feet and in her mouth, but she likes them regardless. haha Today was a low-key day - kept Mia in the morning/afternoon, then ran some errands before church... went to church, then came home and went to bed! Pretty nice day, I'd say! And tonight was the first time Macy cried when I left her in the nursery at church. It was pitiful and sad, but it lasted all of 2 seconds, really. She was really hungry and tired and just didn't want to be left, I suppose. Not that she wanted me, though, because anytime I try to hold her, she just wiggles away! :)

Love my kiddos!!

Day 282 - Visiting with Mrs "Bicki"

When Andrew was a baby, I had a lady keep him in her home. He stayed with her until around 3, when he went to preschool. Her name is Vicki, but Andrew called her "Bicki". So today, while Andrew was at school, I took Macy to the mall by Vicki's house, and she met us there for a stroll around the mall, then we went over to her house to let Macy play and to catch up. We had lunch and just got caught up with everything. It's so nice when you have someone like that in your life, someone you'll always hold special and close to your heart.... I mean, she loved my baby boy for 3 years of his life when I was working, and so I will cherish her forever. But I have to say, it made me thankful for being able to be at home with Macy now....I want to remember Macy's baby days. :) So we didn't get a pic with Mrs. Vicki like I wanted, but I did get one of Macy bug playing in the toys that Andrew played with so many years ago. It was definitely a fun day for both of us!

Day 281 - Strolling & Sleeping

After having to wake Macy up to take Andrew to school this morning, I put her in the jogging stroller, hoping to take her out for a nice, long walk. Well, she was still very sleepy, so the walk turned into a very short ride around the block, and then we came home and she went back to bed! The rest of the day was fine - nothing too exciting except for running errands and then stopping for ice cream before heading home for dinner (yep, we had dessert before dinner today!) It was a good day :) Tomorrow Macy & I are having lunch with Andrew's babysitter, Mrs Vicki... looking forward to getting out and seeing her!!

Day 280 - Macy's First Time Swimming

After church this morning, Andrew and I went to do a photo session, and Miguel took the girl home. Once we were done with the session, Andrew and I were so hot, that we decided to find him a swimsuit and go down to the pool once we got home. So we took some shoes back to a store, grabbed him a cute swimsuit, and headed home to get the girl ready for the pool. Miguel stayed home to get some work done for his boss, and to clean up the garage, and so I took the kids alone. Luckily, my friends were there with their kiddos, so we had a good time. Macy loved the water and really enjoyed splashing around and 'swimming' after Andrew. :) It was a very fun ending to a great weekend!

Day 279 - Selling More Stuff!

Today we had our garage sale again.... woke up and got going around 7:30 and worked until about 1pm or so....then took what we didn't sale, to the goodwill. Overall, we did pretty good at the sale, and now we can have some extra room in our garage for our air hockey table, the dartboard, our bikes, etc... It should be nice when we get done with it. :) After naps and cleaning up, we went to the grocery stores to restock our empty pantry & fridge with food & goodies for the next few weeks. It was a nice day spent together...

Day 278 - Garage Sales & A Climbing Girl

Today we had a garage sale!! I also kept another little boy that I'll be keeping probably two days per week this summer, and that went really well too! The garage sale was great and we had just enough time to get everything in before a horrible storm hit us and broke our tree in half! I'm SO upset about the tree! That was our tree and we never thought we'd have a pretty tree after this being the 3rd one in the same hole, but it took about a year or so ago and this year it was looking SO pretty! And then SNAP, CRACK, and POP. The tree is no more. It's awful.

Macy was up through some of the sale, but asleep for most of it, but we grabbed some pics of her when Andrew came home and we played outside for a bit when it stopped raining for a while.

And the picture of Macy standing backwards in the shopping cart.... um, yeah. This was a complete shock to me that she could get herself into this position! She was buckled in, but still managed to get her feet up, and get into a standing position, trying to literally climb completely out! She thought she was just soooo big after that! Looks like I'm going to have my hands full with her!

Day 277 - The Bracelets Were Mine

Macy has taken a liking to the bangle bracelets that Miguel got me for Mother's Day... luckily, for me, they came in a set of 10 or more, so I can spare one or two for my girl to play with. Because anytime I wear them around her, she's grabbing at them until I take them off and let her have them. Today, she had one in her hand, and the other in her mouth, crawling all over the floor that way. It was too funny :)

The other pic, in the orange outfit, was taken just at the right moment, because shortly after, she left me a present that got her entire onesie pretty nice and not-so-clean anymore. :)

OH!! And she started saying mamamamamama today!! She says it when she's crawling toward me, and so I think it's the real deal, of course. haha

That's all for today!

Day 276 - She Loves Her Ritz Crackers

Finally, Macy is able to eat more solids - crackers, baby puffs, etc... without choking. And today, I was snacking on some Ritz crackers, and as she woke up and wouldn't take her jar of baby food (too chunky - she hasn't quite started liking that yet), I threw a cracker onto her tray and sat in front of her to see what she'd do. And surprisingly, she knew how to work those two small front teeth... and she bit off a small bite, chewed it up and then went to town on the remainder of the cracker. And then had about 4 more after that! (complete with banging her hands on the tray in between crackers when I wasn't getting them to her fast enough!) Love that cracker-eating girl! :)

Day 275 - Into the Toys She Goes

Macy is a spitfire, that's for sure! The girl never stops. And when she doesn't get her way - her food when she wants it, a nap when she needs it, a toy someone else has that she wants.... she's all over it! Either slapping, yelling, grabbing, or crawling high-speed toward whatever it is. And today, she must have wanted something really good inside her toy bucket, because she was leaning all the way over into it, and eventually got completely inside. She wasn't too happy at first, because she was kind of stuck, and there I was taking her picture instead of helping her... but after I helped her up a bit, she perked right up and was pretty darn proud of herself :) That's my girl - go after what you want, and never, ever give up!

Day 274 - 9 Months Old Today!!

Wow - time sure has flown!! Macy bug turned 9 months old today, and of course, we grabbed the monthly pic with her bear, though it was a quick one again this time, as she was beyond tired, had her bottle in her hand, and was diving after the paper. So this is as good as it gets at 9 months :)

At nine months, the girl is still cruising from couch to ottoman, etc.... Not standing alone, unless it's just for a few brief seconds. Crawls faster than any baby I've ever seen! Especially when her brother heads off to his room and she's after whatever it is he's after! She's still crawling up the slide on the mini-playground that's taken up residence in our living room - but she doesn't stop there - she climbs right up to the side as if to climb completely over and off of the whole thing! And put her on the couch, she starts climbing to get over the top of it. We definitely have our hands full with this one! :)

The other day, Andrew was watching Macy in the floor when I was busy doing something, and I heard him say to her, "Macy, I'm gonna tell you just three words, so listen up good. GET A WAY, Get away, sister!!" HAHAHAHA He is really very sweet to his sister, and I couldn't have asked for a better big brother for her. I wish Riley was around more so she could get to know him more and climb all over him!

Who knows - maybe this month will bring more standing and walking!! :)
