365 Days of Macy

welcome

A photo for each day of Macy's first year of life...

Day 52 - Her first night T-Kids

CRAZY day today. I don't even have the energy to write about it. Nor did I take any special pics today. Just one to post, that's it. :)

Day 51 - Sleepy girl

The babysitter said Macy slept from when I dropped her off at 7:30, until around 11:20 this morning! And that she then woke up and her only other nap was for about 45 minutes, then she was up for good after 2ish. She's been up all evening, and I'm hoping she's about to go down for the night. I sure could use a full night of sleep. Tomorrow will be a very long day if not!

Macy attempted to play our Wii game tonight but she wasn't too good at holding onto the drum sticks. Silly girl! :)

Day 50 - The extra long day

Started back to work today. Macy is now 7 weeks old. She went to her new babysitter's house. Andrew started his new afterschool childcare program. And Miguel had fun playing in the Wii tennis tournament at his work. It was a long day. Two to three hours with my kids is NOT enough. I didn't like today very much.

But I liked this pic of my little family.

Day 49 - Happy baby girl

Church this morning, lunch, home for naps, evening of TV-watching and playing with Macy-bug, making her smile and coo at us. Totally needed when tomorrow is the day I have to return to work and ship her off to childcare. Not looking forward to the morning getting here, that's for sure. Anyway, just a few fun pics from us trying to get her to smile and coo at us :)

Day 48 - Texas State Fair

After a photo session this morning, Andrew and I picked Macy & Miguel up to head to the State Fair. We met up with my sister and her family and had a really fun time despite the somewhat high heat. Pics are just from today and her first ever trip to the fair!!

Day 47 - Photo sessions & sleep deprivation

I had a big photo session this morning that Macy went along for. Then she slept all day while I had lunch with Miguel and while we waited for Andrew to get out of school (for the record, he got a "High Five Award" today for coming into school every single morning and greeting his teacher with a smile and a 'good morning' - he was so proud, as were we, of him). Tonight we had dinner with my father-in-law and sister-in-law, and her family. It was good, but I am now just soooo exhausted and ready to hit the sack and call it a day.
Tomorrow I have a photo session in the morning and then we're heading to the fair for the rest of the day with my sister and her family. It's tradition that we go together each year, and I'm really excited to get out and eat some yummy fair food! :)

Got a really cute "beanie" hat for Macy in the mail today. Thought it was really cute on her little round head :)

Day 46 - Lunch with Andrew & shopping

Macy & I went and had lunch with Andrew at school today. Strange how we had to sit at the back of the lunchroom at our own table with none of his friends - something about allergy precautions and whatnot. Oh well, that didn't stop all of his friends from coming to talk to me and Macy-bug. :) Is it bad, though, that Andrew told me that he and the little girl he sits with at their regular table call their table "the lonely table" because they are the only two who sit there? He seems okay with it, but I think it's kinda sad! He's just not all about being popular and sitting in the middle of everyone being the center of attention, though, so I guess that's good. And the lonely table just means he has room for more friends :)

After lunch, Macy was so good that I went and did a little clearance rack shopping. Just trying to find a few new things since I can't fit in pregnancy clothes or any of my old clothes either. Ugh. Weird stage but I will figure it out - too bad I can't just wear sweat pants and PJ's to work next week though!

Tomorrow we have a bridal session to do and then we look forward to Macy's first trip to the State Fair on Saturday! Should be a fun weekend for sure!

Day 45 - Spoke too soon!

Macy woke up every 3 hours again last night. Guess the 7 hour sleep was too good to last :) But that's okay.

Tonight Andrew helped me get Macy to smile a little. It's catching it on the camera that's hard, believe it or not! But it was fun trying, anyway!

Day 44 - Thank you my sweet little girl!

Macy slept oh, from about 12:30am until 7am this morning - and then some! She actually didn't wake me up as early as she normally does, so when I finally did open my own eyes, I saw that Andrew would be late for school if I didn't get up and get him awake and dressed. We were rushing but I was thankful that she let me sleep so much! Let's see if she does it again tonight!
The weather has been WONDERFUL today, so even though we spent most of the day inside, once Andrew got home from school, we went for a walk and Andrew spent some time searching for bugs with his big magnifying glass (pic included). It was such a nice night and Macy loved being outdoors as always!
Important meetings for me tomorrow - will update on those soon. :)
Enjoy the pics from our day!!

Day 43 - Her happy place

Went and met the lady who will be keeping Macy for the next few months. She's very sweet and I know Macy will be well taken care of while she's there. After that, we had to go see my doctor for a follow-up appointment from the c-section. Things look good and I'm doing just fine with the recovery. While there we went down to the lab where I used to work and visited with my old coworkers and friends. They just showered Macy-bug with attention and then we headed to the grocery store and back home again just in time to get Andrew from school.

The pic from today is Macy in what we call her "happy place". After she's fed, she almost always lays back, closes her eyes, and her whole body just goes limp and she's out...nothing can bother her, and she's in "her happy place". It's pretty funny. So tonight, I caught her (and the bib that's almost as big as she is!) in that place, laying on daddy, and thought I'd post it :)

Day 42 - Church, pizza, nap, park, football, oh my!

A nice day today...church this morning followed by a nice little lunch at the new Pizza Inn next to our house. After that, we went home to rest. And that we did. All of us except for Andrew of course - that kid never naps! I fell asleep at the computer while Miguel snoozed in the floor and Macy had her own little spot on the sofa next to the chair I was in. Unfortunately for us, Miguel woke up earlier than we did and snapped a few pics of us! Don't worry Miguel - I won't make the payback be too bad ;) Then I took Andrew down to the playground in our neighborhood and thought Macy-bug would like to go along. I "wore" her down there with my Moby wrap that I finally figured out. And this is now my best friend. Macy LOVES it and sleeps probably more soundly than ever when she's in there. Now we're laying around watching Throwdown with Bobby Flay (me) and the Cowboy game (Miguel & Macy), just getting ready for another crazy busy week. This will be my last week at home with the girl for a while. Updates on that situation to come at a later date...

Day 41 - Sunny days and a smile for daddy

It was very sunny today - quite a change from the last week, as we've had nothing but rain every day lately. The change was nice - but it added a little bit too much sunshine (can you have such a thing?) to my morning photo session, but the pics turned out okay, so no biggie :) Andrew stayed at his cousins house last night and went to the movies with them today, so Miguel and I took Macy with us to my morning session and then to lunch with the friends we took the photos for. She was an angel throughout both, of course. ;) We tried to get some shots of her in her cute little outfit, but she wasn't having it. Go figure! And before the session, while getting ready, Miguel was able to get a real smile out of Macy-bug - it was so sweet! We don't see them often enough, but pretty soon I know she'll be smiling constantly and I'm so ready for that!

Day 40 - A lunch date and a dinner date

Macy and I had lunch with my coworker, Donna, today. It was fun and Macy got to wear her big red bow that Auntie Donna gave to her :) I was approached by a lady at the restaurant who told me "she has got to be the prettiest little baby girl I've ever seen in my whole life". Aww :) Then tonight, Aunt Mari kept Macy & Andrew both while Miguel and I went out on a semi-date. We went to Logan's Roadhouse and then we stopped by McD's for a sweet tea and ice cream cone. We're really exciting, huh?! But baby girl gives us not much rest, so we were just anxious to pick her up and get back home to sleep!

And the picture I had to add to todays post, is one of how I found her in her swing this afternoon. She would wiggle her way down in the blanket that I had draped over her legs - I have no idea how she did it, because I would come and uncover her so I'd know she could breathe, but then I'd come back by her a while later, and she'd have wiggled her way back under the blanket again. I snapped a quick pic and then went ahead and took the blanket out of the swing because it was getting my anxiety level way on up there :)

Day 39 - Can we get some sun over here?

It rained yet again today. But we made the most of it. Went out during the breaks and snapped a few pictures in my new basket I bought for sessions. As much as I was excited about Macy being born so that I could photograph her in all kinds of fun and unique ways, she's just not a good infant model! Her looks are perfect, and I get her when she's sleeping very soundly...but at the slightest movement or touch, she wiggles. So I can't position her hands and/or feet where I want them! So much for practicing with this girl! :) But I did get a few cute ones regardless, because she's Macy, and I'll always get good shots when taking her picture. :)

Day 38 - It's Macro time!

The macro lens that I got today has nothing to do with Macy, other than I took her 365 pic with it (though you wouldn't be able to tell it's a macro lens since it's just a portrait...but I'll add a macro pic just to show off the fun I've had today!). Other than me getting that lens...it's been a fine day. Rainy yet again, but good regardless. Macy has rested most of the day, as she was up until around 1am and then up again at 4am for the day. Crazy girl! Hoping to squeeze in another bubble bath later tonight if she'll let me, as the one the other night was interrupted by her screams on the other side of the door and Miguel saying "she's inconsolable!" Mommy to the rescue!! :)

Day 37 - A smile or just gas?

I think I got the first real smile out of Macy this morning! She gave me two of them and a little coo...but then again, she's been gassy all day, too, so it very well still could have been just that causing those grins. But I snapped a quick pic on my phone (horrible quality - sorry!) to capture the moment, in case it actually was the first real smile! :) Other than that, we had a pretty quiet day.

Day 36 - Take me away!!!

Our normal morning nap-after-we-take-Andrew-to-school lasted all of maybe 1 hour today. Normally we sleep for a good 2-3 hours, at least! But noooooooo!! Miss Macy-bug thought it would be fun to wake up and get in some good daytime TV today. All.Day.Long. She stayed awake from around 10am until we went to pick Andrew up from school at 2:50pm, and then when we drove to Wal-Mart after getting him, she finally fell asleep. But then she was back up after Miguel got home at 6ish. So really, she got a little cat nap in twice today, but me - not so much! So now that she's down, I'm heading for a hot bubble bath! Who wants to guess how long it will take me to fall asleep in there?! :)

Macy posed today with what her "I-wanna-be-awake-and-not-let-my-mommy-ever-nap" day led me to buy. haha

Day 35

Church today! And it was awesome! :) Macy looked cute and I actually fixed my hair and wore real clothes! Had some yummy Arby's sandwiches for lunch and then took a nap while the Cowboys played (and won I think!). Had to get a pic of Macy in her cute little dress - but it proved to not be an easy task since she's been out of sorts today. Not happy awake, not happy sleeping. Just kinda not sure what she wants to do. So I got the best shots I could, considering. :)

Day 34

It's rained ALL DAY LONG here. But that didn't stop the fun! Andrew jumped on the trampoline in the rain (in nothing but his underwear!) and our crazy dog, Ranger, joined him! Later in the day, Marcie & family came up and me, Macy & Andrew drove over to meet them at IKEA to get a few things. After IKEA, we dropped the older three kiddos off with Miguel at the house and I took Marcie & Macy to the Mattel outlet store and Sam Moon. We finished off the night with dinner at Fresco's. YUMMY. Macy snoozed a lot this morning but was awake for a lot of the shopping. She's awake for the important stuff :)

Day 33

Macy and I went shopping today! Well, window shopping actually. Didn't find anything to buy, so we went home and slept all day. I've had school work and photo sessions to edit all week, and I was planning on working on those today but because Macy still thinks it's fun to stay up all night, I was just too tired to get anything done today. But sleep is something I always have time for! Especially when baby girl is sleeping! :) Yesterday we met another lady up the street who has a baby girl that is 6 days older than Macy...and then today we saw her again and also met another lady whose daughter is in Andrew's class at school and who is also pregnant with a girl, due in a month. I see playdates with our girls in my future! :)

And for today, I wanted you all to see the side of Macy that no one normally sees but us. She's typically a very happy and easy-to-please baby, but tonight I guess she just thought we weren't doing anything right, and she gave us some fits. So Miguel and Andrew joined in tear-fest while I snapped some pics! Can't beat them, join them, right?!

Day 32

Macy Marie is one month old today! Happy month-iversary, baby girl! To celebrate, she slept ALL DAY LONG. We'll see how much sleep I get tonight. lol

Day 31

Another busy day for us! Macy went to work with me again for the first part of the day today, and then her daddy picked her up and took her with him to pick Andrew up from school. Miguel & Andrew headed to T-Kids at church tonight and the Macy-bug and myself stayed at home and got some editing done on my photo session pics from the weekend. Now it's 11:30 and she's still awake, as am I - still trying to get those pics edited and a tired girl to sleep!! Tomorrow our girl turns one month old!!

Day 30

Today Macy went with me up to the church to work for a few hours. She was a perfect angel while there, of course, and I was able to catch up on a few things for the children's ministry. The pic for today was of her wiped out on her daddy's chest. One of her favorite places to be :)

Day 29

Left MIL's house and headed to my parents where we had a cookout and visited with family for a few hours before heading back home. Andrew spent a few hours playing in the pool with his cousins while Macy relaxed in the arms of her aunts/uncles/grandmas/grandpa and then slept out by the pool in Aunt Amy's lap. She was a happy girl :)

Day 28

Went to church back home this morning, visited with Uncle Albert & Aunt Thelma after church, then drove to my wonderful Mother-in-law's house for the evening. Macy's spent much of her time here being held and snuggled by everyone and I'm thinking I should probably prepare for a night of no sleep since she's slept most of the day away!

Day 27

Well, I took plenty of pics for day 27, I just fell asleep and forgot to post them! :) Macy had a busy day! She stayed with my parents and sisters while Miguel and I did our six photo sessions and then after that, my sister Marcie wanted to babysit, so Macy went over to her house while I had dinner with my wonderful husband. While there, her cousin Jake shared his cars and his footballs with her - apparently he liked her pretty good :)
