365 Days of Macy

welcome

A photo for each day of Macy's first year of life...

Day 140 - A Day Inside

Macy is still sick. Going on 24 days now, so we'll probably be calling her doc again tomorrow to see if it's gotten any worse or if we just have to keep letting it run its course. She rested a lot today and played in her jumperoo. But also fussed a lot because she's just not feeling so great :( I took a short video of her snoozing away this evening - it's pretty cute. And then before bed, I caught this sweet pic of her resting on her blanket in the floor :)

Day 139 - The Day After

REST. That's what today was about!! :) Got up after a night of restlessness due to Macy being sick and we didn't do too much. Later in the day, Aunt Mari came over and took me to Sam Moon (& Kirklands!).... Also went to Hobby Lobby later in the evening to pick up some more flowers to make pins/headbands with. Aunt Linda & her family, Aunt Mary, and Buela & Papa Bill also came over today to visit. We had some yummy pizza and everyone took turns passing Macy bug around :) She's feeling really yucky today and just sounds really awful, so we may be taking a trip to the urgent care clinic tomorrow or at least getting her in with her regular doc on Monday. Either way, the girl needs to get better. She's just so tired of us sucking out her nose and/or wiping it! It was a good and relaxing day regardless!

Day 138 - Her First Christmas Day

After going to sleep around 5am, Miguel and I got up with the kids around 8:30 to open gifts. Andrew got a huge amount of goodies - he was very excited :) Macy got a few things too but next year will be the best first, real Christmas for her. Later at night, we went to one of the only places open - Fridays - and had a quick bite to eat before heading home with a few rented movies to watch. Macy bug didn't do much but hang out :) Merry CHRISTmas!

Day 137 - It's Finally Here!!

Christmas Eve is finally here! We had a great time at Mimi & Papa's for the big family gathering. Before we went, though, we stopped in at Grapevine Mills to do one big thing for Macy.... We got her ears pierced!! She better not be called a boy ever again! :) She's a pretty pink little girl now and we had a great time with her on her first Christmas Eve, even if she felt rotten the entire night. Oh - and it snowed today too!! When we drove back from East Texas, everything by our house was still covered in snow and the roads in ice. It's a white Christmas in my town!! :)

Day 136 - The Eve of The Eve

Party at Aunt Diana's! :) Macy got to wear her new Ms Hollywood hat & she was just too too cute!!

Day 135 - Car Issues & New Flower Clippies

Today we got word on how much it will cost us to completely fix our SUV. Let's just say it's not a pretty amount. We went out to finish up the last shopping for our house/grocery needs as well as gifts for the holiday parties coming up, and while out, I decided to pick up some supplies to make my own flowers for Macy's headbands and beanies. I'm very excited on how they turned out, and I'm ready to make them and sell them for $500 a piece as my sister told me to do so that I could pay for my car repairs. LOL Macy slept away most of the day again, and tonight, she snoozed while Miguel & Riley went to the Stryper concert in Dallas and Andrew & I watched Monsters vs. Aliens and I worked on flowers & the other item I'm making for holiday gifts. :) Tomorrow is more finishing up and then we have a family get together at night with Miguel's family. Christmas is almost here!!!

Day 134 - Going Back Home

Left Mimi's today after making sure our one working car has new tires and a fresh oil change. Drove home and didn't do much of anything for the rest of the day. Macy slept, of course :)

Day 133 - Mimi's House, Shopping (AGAIN!), and Cute Hats

Drove to East Texas this morning to surprise my family. Went to church where my dad led the choir in a very nice Christmas program. Afterwards, we headed to the big Tyler mall. Found Macy some shirts and the CUTEST hat with a black feather & a pink flower. Now to find her clothes to match it! And to top it off, Marcie bought her a pair of leopard print sunglasses. Ms. Hollywood she definitely is :) (Bad pics, but I'll get better ones later when she actually has on clothes that match the hat)

Day 132 - Pics, Grapevine, Shopping, Car Trouble, Oh my!

Took pics this afternoon.... Went for lunch in downtown Grapevine, then walked through the stores in that area, did some Christmas shopping... grabbed some Starbucks to warm up, then headed home. Then the car died. Not good. We'll work it out though. God is good, that's all I know. And Macy is wiped out. She slept through most of the shopping, though, so not sure why she's so tired now! :) And Andrew rode a pony - never thought that would happen, so I had to get a shot of it too!!

Day 131 - Shopping, Andrew's Party, and More Shopping!

...And Santa too! Macy and I spent the morning at the mall just doing a little window shopping. Then we went to Andrew's Christmas party at his school....she was sweet and cute as a button there of course :) After school, we went to Sams and then to eat and to the mall to just walk around and window shop some more. Yep, two trips to the mall in one day and I didn't buy a thing at either place! We did let the kiddos sit on Santa's lap for a 'real' pic this time. I'll try to post that later. I took a quick pic from my cell phone while we were shopping....

Day 130 - To the Doc & A New Hat

Macy bug had her 4 month check up at the doc today. Got 3 shots - didn't cry one drop! She's 14lbs now - 65% percentile.... 50% for height, which is pretty good, considering Andrew's always been in the 10th or so! :) She's growing along just fine - doc B. was impressed again with how well she stands on her little (chubby) legs and how well she holds herself up while on her tummy. She's allowed to start eating solids since she's eating all.of.the.time! Growing like a weed and blooming like a little flower :)

Speaking of flowers - my mom made Macy another beanie hat! We got it in the mail today and I'm guessing I gave my mom the wrong head measurements - what do you think? hahaha (nah-she'll grow into it quickly, no worries!)

Day 129 - A Do Nothing Kind of Day

...Well, it was for Macy anyway! I have had about 5 sessions to edit all at once, and my entire couch is filled with laundry waiting to be folded and put away - so my day was NOT a do nothing kind of day! But poor Macy still isn't feeling all that great, so she just slept and ate...and ate...and ate, all day long. Played in her jumperoo, in her bumbo, in her bouncy chair, took a nap in her crib, and played a lot on the floor. Oh what a life. No worries in the world until she gets a grip on those baby keys and throws them into her head - then it's no fun anymore. haha (and about the pics - one is blurry, but it's too cute not to post)...

Day 128 - Brother's First Christmas Program

Tonight was Andrew's school Christmas Program. I guess technically it's not his first one since he had one last year with his pre-K class, but still. It's his first "big school" performance. He got a fresh haircut beforehand, and looked very handsome for the performance. And Macy got dressed up too :) Wednesday is a day of rest for me and the girl, as we've been running all over creation the last two weeks and I'm so looking forward to staying home and editing pics and getting the house back in order.

Enjoy the pics!

Day 127 - Too tired to remember

Can't seem to stay up long enough at night to post Macy's daily pic. I do take one every single day but by the time I log on to post it, I get so tired that I just check my mail and messages and then shut the computer down. I was about to not post again today and instead do it in the morning, but I thought I'd better since a few may be expecting a new pic and that way I'm not behind two days. So here I am. On this particular day, we were all sick. So Macy spent a lot of time sleeping. And when Andrew started feeling better, he played in his room a lot, only to come out every once in a while for me to take his pic while he was being goofy. Got one good shot of each kiddo to share :)

Day 126 - Finally - a Day Outside!

Macy bug has been sick again lately, so we've had her indoors every single day really. Today was going to be a very nice and much warmer day, so we decided to take her with us on my photo shoots that I had lined up after church. We went into downtown Ft Worth and then to the Stockyards and we had a good time together - doing pics and just enjoying the day. While there, Andrew befriended a cat and a goat - believe that or not :) And Macy discovered grass - and grabbed a handful but didn't succeed in eating it, as we were faster than she was. Overall, it was a fun day together as a family. Now, as I sit here about to start editing sessions again, I just have to thank God for the blessings He's given me - and for how He's allowing me to stay at home with my kiddos. Never before have I ever welcomed a Monday as I do now :) Lots of pics from today....

Day 125 - Her New Toy

(posted a day late)... Macy bug in her new jumperoo. She likes it but gets frustrated that she still can't figure out how to grab things and do what she wants to with them. One day, baby girl, one day. Take it nice and slow - you're already growing up way too fast for me! :)

Day 124 - First time for everything

This morning I agreed to help out with childcare at our church for their MOPS group. Two other ladies and I had 7 babies to take care of. Macy was the youngest, and by far the best baby - she didn't make a peep the entire time and was just content to be swinging or in the exersaucer....which was a first for her. She loved that thing and just bounced around and enjoyed all of the bright colors and sounds coming from all directions around her. (not only that, but being in the church baby room was a first in itself - she's never had to go to the nursery yet - she stays with me during church - but I think she enjoyed being around other babies and toys!) So after a little Christmas shopping, we went and got her her Christmas present a little early... A jumperoo! It's just like an exersaucer only it doesn't have a bottom to it, and instead, it has bungie type things that make her bounce when her feet jump off of the floor. Pics of that coming on day 124...

While I put the jumperoo together, Macy bug sat in her Bumbo chair and watched me. Then Andrew came around and wanted in the pic...only he wanted to make Macy have bunny ears. So the other pic of Macy has Andrew flopped down on the ground behind her, because he was upset that I wouldn't let him put bunny ears behind her head. It's such a joy taking pics of BOTH kids...one happy as a lark and one spread out on the floor being a cranky pants. :)

Day 123 - 4 Months Old Already?!

Today Macy bug is 4 months old. What do you think she spent it doing? Yeah - sleeping. Can't beat that, I guess! When she was awake, she spent a little time in her bouncy chair - and instead of flipping herself sideways in it, this time she learned how to scoot herself down and out of it. She never made it out, because she would end up practically upside down with her feet in the air, and I'd come rescue her before she flopped out :) But I had to grab a quick pic on her way out of the chair - her head is normally a few inches higher in the chair, so you can tell she's been scooting herself down further and further by kicking her feet and pushing with all of her might. It's pretty funny - she gets really upset about it too :) So happy 4 month bday my wiggly little baby girl!!! We love you!

Day 122 - The Christmas Gear Model

Tonight at T-Kids at our church, Macy was the model for our newest "shop" items for purchase. The quality is bad, but it was taken from my cell phone... That's all you get for today, as I'm exhausted and am going to bed now! :)

Day 121 - She Finally Laughed for Me!

Macy has laughed a few times in her little life already, but never for me. One little giggle, but that has been it. She cracked everyone up a week before Thanksgiving when she laughed her little head off at my dad when they babysat her. Miguel was there too at the time, and so he heard it and recorded it on his cell phone for me to hear (but not see). Since then, we've done everything but stand on our heads (knowing my girl, she's probably waiting for that to happen before she laughs!) to get her to laugh, and still nothing. Just lots of big grins but no giggles. Until tonight. She's been very vocal all night, so I got out the camera to catch her "talking", and what do you know! Miguel had her little pink monster rattle toy and she just thought tonight was the night that thing would be funny. :) I made two videos, both are similar, but one has a cute little surprise toward the end, so I had to post it. haha

The pics...one is of her sleeping, of course... in her little pink bunny slippers :) And the other is of her new frustration - we sit her in her bouncy chair and during the times she doesn't want to be in it, she tries to work her way out. She turns her body over and then gets stuck - and mad. It's pretty funny watching her try to wiggle out but she's still too short to hit the ground with her feet - and besides, if she did get to the ground, what does she think she's going to do - start crawling away? She'd better not! haha So she just gets herself stuck and fusses until someone comes to her rescue. Or takes her picture. :)

Enjoy the videos as well as the pics!

Day 120 - Grandma & A Night of Posing

Macy & I went and had lunch with Miguel & Grandma Veva today. This was Grandma's first time meeting Macy - and Macy just LOVED her. It was nice to see her again!

Tonight we dressed the kids in their Christmas PJs and tried taking some holiday card photos. Ha. That was interesting! But I think we got a few good ones to use for a card...we'll see. But awhile after taking the pics, we let Macy roll around on the floor while we fixed and ate dinner. After a while, we noticed it had gotten quiet, and after looking, saw that Macy bug had fallen asleep on the floor, long-legged PJs and all :) She never just falls asleep like that, so of course I had to take a pic :)

Day 119 - Being Sick Stinks!

I woke up with a stomach bug today, and Macy woke up with her cold/congestion going on strong. Poor baby girl - we actually didn't sleep that much through the night due to her constant coughing. Today she's had red cheeks all day long and is just not feeling well at all. She took a long nap but now is fighting it and is awake sitting in her daddy's lap, eating up all the lovin'.

Doctor tomorrow if they want to see her. Let's hope it's just a cold and it goes away soon!!
