365 Days of Macy

welcome

A photo for each day of Macy's first year of life...

Day 331 - Planning a Party!

A month from tomorrow, we will be having Macy's 1st birthday party (her bday is on the 10th of August), so I spent some of today getting ideas and things planned for that big event. So exciting! Macy had a fun day of sleeping and eating, sleeping, and more eating. I've been trying to teach her sign language for a few words, "more" being one of those words. I constantly show her and say the word to her when she comes back to me for more graham crackers. And today, I must have shown her 20 times, because she'd keep coming back for more. You'd think after that many trips back to me for more crackers, she'd have the sign down. Nope, she doesn't. She just waves at me! Every single time she comes and stands at my legs wanting more, I ask "more?", sign to her, and then she waves at me. Okay, so I've about made up my mind that she will actually speak the word "more" before she'll ever sign it! Guess that will do too! :)

Day 330 - The Best Girl EVER

After today, I've decided that we have the best little girl ever. No, really. :) We took Macy & Andrew to NRH2O today because we had gotten a steal of a deal on tickets (and free drinks all day!). We were there from about 11am until 5:30ish at night, and Macy was wonderful the entire day. She played in the shallow pools and slid down a slide or two with our help, and even missing her morning naptime, she was still very good and never fussy. We got on some tubes to float around the lazy river in, and Macy bug finally fell asleep, on top of me, while we floated around and around :) Then we got out, walked to the wave pool, and she stayed asleep during that trip as well, and then again when we walked to our chairs. She woke up a while later, and was still so good the rest of the afternoon. We are so blessed to have such great kiddos! We'll definitely be going back to this waterpark, and maybe next time I'll remember to take more pictures!!

Day 329 - Macy's First Fourth of July

After church this morning (where I had Macy in GREEN, because I didn't have any red-white-blue for her to wear, shame on me!!), we went home to relax. Once Macy woke up this evening, we went down to the pool for a while and let the kiddos play. After that, we grilled steaks, and had some yummy veggies with them, for dinner, and then I took Andrew up the big hill next to our house to watch all of the different firework shows that were going on around us. There were probably 7 different shows that we saw from where we parked our car on the side of the road (next to dozens of other watchers). He enjoyed it and then we ran home to tell Macy bug night-night.

Tomorrow we're heading to the nearby waterpark to use our discount tickets and free drink wristbands that I got us last week. Should be a fun day!!

Day 328 - Happy 3rd of July

We had a pretty eventful day today... This morning we woke up late and just spent much of the day playing the Wii and cleaning up the house. Macy spent much of her morning eating Nilla Wafer cookies. hahaha These cookies were actually what convinced her to TAKE HER FIRST THREE STEPS!!! Miguel held out a cookie, and miss Macy bug walked straight for it! Of course, then when I get the video camera out, all she wants is the camera and only crawls for it, not trying to walk anymore. Ah well, at least we know it's coming and that she CAN walk :) She just doesn't want to yet. :) But the cookies - she loves loves loves those things and I guess at one point, she ran out of them. So she found the box and decided to get herself one...or two, or how about a dozen or so?! She dumped them out into her lap and you should have seen her face! She was a very happy girl :) In the pic posted, she had a cookie stuffed in her mouth, that's why she looked a little goofy.

After naps and getting ready, my friend (and Andrew's Kindergarden teacher) Lindsey came over and we took the kids to a nearby town to eat, walk around, and see the fireworks. It was nice. We had a coupon for a nice pizza/Italian place, so we had dinner there, then we walked around and Andrew made some candy art, jumped in some bounce houses, slid down a big slide, then we waited in a LONG line for him to get a balloon animal (or in andrew's case, a balloon jet!). While waiting in that line, the fireworks started. So we got his balloon and went to sit down to watch the rest of the fireworks. Macy didn't know what to think - at first, she giggled when one would shoot up into the air, but if you left her alone (to try and take a picture!), she'd start crying and reaching for someone to hold her. Andrew liked them but thought they were too loud :) After it was over, we walked to the Nestle cookie place and got us some YUMMY cookies to take home with us. Then we went to the bookstore and got Andrew some books. Then we left to come home.

Miguel stayed home because he had some UFC fight on TV that he was having some guys come over to watch with him. So we got home and visited with them and then they all left and that was the night for us!!

We'll see what other kind of trouble we can stir up tomorrow :)

Day 327 - Fun Friday Indeed!

This morning we all woke up and went to the park to feed the squirrels & ducks. One squirrel came right to my hand and took the bread from me (not the peanuts - those we would toss out for them and they'd grab them and run to bury them in the mulch!). It was great fun, and we'll definitely go back to feed them again maybe next week.

After the park, we went to the farmers market to grab some fresh veggies and fruits, then we ran to Target & then had some frozen yogurt before going home. At home, we just napped while Miguel mowed the front yard. Later, I took the kids for a bike ride (they rode in the carrier behind me), after trying to convince Andrew to try and learn to ride his bike without training wheels - yeah, that didn't work too well. He was too scared I'd let him fall, and he doesn't like it. :) Then it started pouring rain, and I took Andrew out to the sidewalk and gutter on the street to play in the rain. He loved that, and I have to admit, I had fun too :) Hey, it was Fun Friday - just because it rains doesn't mean we can't have fun!!
After playing in the rain, Miguel went and traded in some games to get some new ones. Came home and the boys played games while Macy ate (no way!!) and I played with some wedding photos I'm editing. I think Andrew ended up having a fun day, and that's what it's all about :)

As for Macy - her days are always fun when she gets to eat, play, sleep, and be loved on by all of us!

(and this pic for today - she was getting kinda tired, and was mad that I was just trying to get a good pic of her instead of picking her up and putting her to bed!) :)

Day 326 - Daddy's Home Today!

Miguel has taken a few days off from work, so he was home today, and will be tomorrow as well. The kids loved that, as did the two little ones I keep (Preston & Mia). They played hard all day (the kids & Miguel!), and I got a lot of photo editing done. Luckily, Macy has been feeling much better lately, and she's back to eating any and everything :) After cleaning her up and getting her ready for bed, we pulled out an old t-shirt of Andrew's and put it on Macy.... she looked SO cute in it :) We're looking forward to tomorrow, "Fun Friday", now that Daddy's here to enjoy it with us!!

Day 325 - My Cute Kids

Today we had Mia for a little while, and when she left, we ran some errands. Nothing too fancy, just a normal kind of day :)
