365 Days of Macy

welcome

A photo for each day of Macy's first year of life...

Day 273 - Happy Mother's Day!

Well, Andrew ended up getting really sick last night after we got home from MT, so I stayed home with him from church this morning. Seems to have been a one-time thing, though, because he was better after waking up and having pancakes for breakfast.

After church, we hung out at the house, and then my brother-in-law called us, asking if we wanted to meet them at the Frisco RoughRiders game, because he had tickets and it included free parking and free food/drinks! Heck yeah, count us in! :) So we drove over to Frisco and enjoyed the nice cooler weather and lots of yummy food, desserts, and sodas. Okay, and cotton candy, too! Even Macy tried some :) That was after she tried an Oreo Cakester this morning. Yep, she likes chocolate. That tiny bit of cakester today showed me just how much she will probably get into her birthday cake that's coming in THREE months. Can't believe she is 9 months tomorrow. CRAZY!

Day 272 - Visitors & A New Babysitter

Today my family came in for our Mother's Day trip to Medieval Times, and so Macy got to spend a little time with Mimi & Papa before we dropped her off at the babysitter's for the evening. Gina, my neighbor, mommy to Mia, the little girl I watch twice a week, kept her for us while we were gone. And apparently, Macy freaked out after she realized we were gone, but as long as they held her, took her outside, or Danny, Gina's hubby, was holding her, she was fine. :) Gina kept me up to date through the evening by sending me pics of her and what they were doing. Seems after their trip outside, she came in and became quick friends with Danny. Hey, to her, as long as you feed her puffs or give her a bottle, she'll be your friend for life!

Day 271 - Pictures, Flowers, and Outdoor Playtime

This morning, Macy went with me to meet a little boy that I may start keeping part-time, and to do his pictures at the Botanical Gardens in Ft. Worth. It was a fun time, and Macy bug was very good in her stroller and didn't get fussy until the very end of the session after we'd toted her around the park trying to get pics of this very independent little boy :) It was fun though, regardless, and I snuck in a pic or two of Macy in her stroller while we were there.

After that, and after her afternoon nap, we spent some time outside in the front yard, getting the flower beds in shape. She played in her jumperoo while I layed mulch and while Miguel worked on the bike trailer that his friend gave us. Then I hopped on my bike and took the kiddos for a ride around the neighborhood to test it out. We're very excited about getting out there and enjoying something as a family on a regular basis!

Day 270 - Baths Are Fun!

Oh, today we just had a day at home... and the pics are from post-bathtime :) Enjoy the funny hair we gave our girl. :)

Day 269 - A Do-Rag Kind of Day

Tonight was the T-Kids J.A.M. Night at church.... just a big night of raising money for kids with no shoes (last year it was for water filtration overseas), dunking pastors in the dunking booth, eating hamburgers, playing ring-toss games, music, and a Bible lesson. It was fun as it is every year. And Macy bug sported her do-rag that we've had for a while but just haven't ever worn before. The girl got TONS of compliments :)

Day 268 - Macy Found A Friend, Nana

This morning, Macy & I went back to the hospital to take some family pictures for the family with the new baby. While there, Macy was getting kind of antsy, so I got her Gerber Puffs out, but couldn't sit and feed them to her, since I was busy taking the pics. Well, the new baby had her "Nana" there to visit, and Nana took it upon herself to help miss Macy bug out :) Mace was a very happy girl - especially since Nana even took her out of her stroller! You're her forever friend if you rescue her out of that thing! :)

Day 267 - A Day Out of The Ordinary

Well, today started out fine. Macy & I went to the grocery store once Miguel & Andrew were off to school & work... but while at the store, a friend called who was going into the hospital to be induced to have her second baby! This normally is pretty exciting news - but today, it was scary news! This was the very first birth that I was going to photograph!! So we headed home and waited for her next phone call, which came at 3:30pm, telling me to come on up to the hospital, that they were breaking her water and that it should all start happening pretty fast from then on. So I get there at 4, and we end up waiting 7 hours for her to finally be ready to start pushing! I took some pics while waiting those 7 hours, and then directly after the baby girl was born and "pinked up". It was a very amazing moment and I'm so glad I was able to photograph the process and tomorrow I will return to take pics of the baby with grandma and big sister. I have to be honest, though - this pic from today was actually taken at 12:15am, because that's when I got home and was able to get it! :) (I'll blame Miguel for that, since he forgot to take a pic earlier in the night for me haha) But she didn't change in 15 minutes, I promise :)

AND - this is what happens when you leave daddy home with the kids, and haven't had a chance to put the clean laundry away... Macy ends up sleeping in PJ's that are about 3 months too small, and so he just cuts the feet/legs out and makes them work :) Love that man :)
