365 Days of Macy

welcome

A photo for each day of Macy's first year of life...

Day 280 - Macy's First Time Swimming

After church this morning, Andrew and I went to do a photo session, and Miguel took the girl home. Once we were done with the session, Andrew and I were so hot, that we decided to find him a swimsuit and go down to the pool once we got home. So we took some shoes back to a store, grabbed him a cute swimsuit, and headed home to get the girl ready for the pool. Miguel stayed home to get some work done for his boss, and to clean up the garage, and so I took the kids alone. Luckily, my friends were there with their kiddos, so we had a good time. Macy loved the water and really enjoyed splashing around and 'swimming' after Andrew. :) It was a very fun ending to a great weekend!

Day 279 - Selling More Stuff!

Today we had our garage sale again.... woke up and got going around 7:30 and worked until about 1pm or so....then took what we didn't sale, to the goodwill. Overall, we did pretty good at the sale, and now we can have some extra room in our garage for our air hockey table, the dartboard, our bikes, etc... It should be nice when we get done with it. :) After naps and cleaning up, we went to the grocery stores to restock our empty pantry & fridge with food & goodies for the next few weeks. It was a nice day spent together...

Day 278 - Garage Sales & A Climbing Girl

Today we had a garage sale!! I also kept another little boy that I'll be keeping probably two days per week this summer, and that went really well too! The garage sale was great and we had just enough time to get everything in before a horrible storm hit us and broke our tree in half! I'm SO upset about the tree! That was our tree and we never thought we'd have a pretty tree after this being the 3rd one in the same hole, but it took about a year or so ago and this year it was looking SO pretty! And then SNAP, CRACK, and POP. The tree is no more. It's awful.

Macy was up through some of the sale, but asleep for most of it, but we grabbed some pics of her when Andrew came home and we played outside for a bit when it stopped raining for a while.

And the picture of Macy standing backwards in the shopping cart.... um, yeah. This was a complete shock to me that she could get herself into this position! She was buckled in, but still managed to get her feet up, and get into a standing position, trying to literally climb completely out! She thought she was just soooo big after that! Looks like I'm going to have my hands full with her!

Day 277 - The Bracelets Were Mine

Macy has taken a liking to the bangle bracelets that Miguel got me for Mother's Day... luckily, for me, they came in a set of 10 or more, so I can spare one or two for my girl to play with. Because anytime I wear them around her, she's grabbing at them until I take them off and let her have them. Today, she had one in her hand, and the other in her mouth, crawling all over the floor that way. It was too funny :)

The other pic, in the orange outfit, was taken just at the right moment, because shortly after, she left me a present that got her entire onesie pretty nice and not-so-clean anymore. :)

OH!! And she started saying mamamamamama today!! She says it when she's crawling toward me, and so I think it's the real deal, of course. haha

That's all for today!

Day 276 - She Loves Her Ritz Crackers

Finally, Macy is able to eat more solids - crackers, baby puffs, etc... without choking. And today, I was snacking on some Ritz crackers, and as she woke up and wouldn't take her jar of baby food (too chunky - she hasn't quite started liking that yet), I threw a cracker onto her tray and sat in front of her to see what she'd do. And surprisingly, she knew how to work those two small front teeth... and she bit off a small bite, chewed it up and then went to town on the remainder of the cracker. And then had about 4 more after that! (complete with banging her hands on the tray in between crackers when I wasn't getting them to her fast enough!) Love that cracker-eating girl! :)

Day 275 - Into the Toys She Goes

Macy is a spitfire, that's for sure! The girl never stops. And when she doesn't get her way - her food when she wants it, a nap when she needs it, a toy someone else has that she wants.... she's all over it! Either slapping, yelling, grabbing, or crawling high-speed toward whatever it is. And today, she must have wanted something really good inside her toy bucket, because she was leaning all the way over into it, and eventually got completely inside. She wasn't too happy at first, because she was kind of stuck, and there I was taking her picture instead of helping her... but after I helped her up a bit, she perked right up and was pretty darn proud of herself :) That's my girl - go after what you want, and never, ever give up!

Day 274 - 9 Months Old Today!!

Wow - time sure has flown!! Macy bug turned 9 months old today, and of course, we grabbed the monthly pic with her bear, though it was a quick one again this time, as she was beyond tired, had her bottle in her hand, and was diving after the paper. So this is as good as it gets at 9 months :)

At nine months, the girl is still cruising from couch to ottoman, etc.... Not standing alone, unless it's just for a few brief seconds. Crawls faster than any baby I've ever seen! Especially when her brother heads off to his room and she's after whatever it is he's after! She's still crawling up the slide on the mini-playground that's taken up residence in our living room - but she doesn't stop there - she climbs right up to the side as if to climb completely over and off of the whole thing! And put her on the couch, she starts climbing to get over the top of it. We definitely have our hands full with this one! :)

The other day, Andrew was watching Macy in the floor when I was busy doing something, and I heard him say to her, "Macy, I'm gonna tell you just three words, so listen up good. GET A WAY, Get away, sister!!" HAHAHAHA He is really very sweet to his sister, and I couldn't have asked for a better big brother for her. I wish Riley was around more so she could get to know him more and climb all over him!

Who knows - maybe this month will bring more standing and walking!! :)
